It's Election Week, let's VOTE!

Updated: Mar 25

Since 2019, we've witnessed a revolving door of three prime ministers, each leaving much to be desired. Boris Johnson's actions, from callously condemning families' last goodbyes to loved ones to hypocritically partying while urging social distancing, have raised eyebrows. Liz Truss's blink-and-you'll-miss-it 15-day tenure hardly qualifies as leadership.

And now we have Rishi Sunak who, might I add we never voted for. Like all politicians, he has been under severe scrutiny and although the start was around his nationality, sorry, I meant to say the colour of his skin; only recently have people put their ignorance second and begun to focus on his political stances questioning his motives on decisions like selling arms to Israel and the rising prices and widespread struggle in the UK.

The time has come to vote for our next prime minister. Having asked a number of people who they are voting for, we have had mixed responses which are between these three; 'I have no idea', ‘Absolutely no one, there’s no point’, 'I'll just vote green'

At this point, the majority of the population have had enough experience with 'leaders', and in actual fact recognise one thing they can't do is lead and manage this country well, why? Because everything has to centre around making money opposed to the value of human life.

Imagine selling weapons to a country to aid the killing of innocent civilians but then complain about the youth of London killing each other with machetes that are easily accessible, it's as if it's easily accessible to... never mind, let's focus on what we as mere civilians have control over.

Voting! Yes, we may vote based on all the amazing promises these politicians are making and be totally bamboozled once again! How about we vote like we never have before and maybe, just maybe someone with values, morals, and good intentions will take the lead and surprise us?

In the meantime, imagine we, we being the women of Dinkum Diaries, are running for prime minister to actually make changes for the human race, here are some outfits we are drawing inspiration from as women born in an era that has had enough life experience in men and women saying one thing and doing another.
