THE BATTLE OF THE LIP LINERS...
The lip liner and gloss combination is the perfect everyday look and suits every woman who experiments with makeup. For the longest time, visiting my local beauty store for the deepest brown liner was sufficient—and to be honest, it’s still a reliable choice to have on hand. However, as I mature, earn a decent income, and become more conscious of the products I purchase and use, I’ve begun to explore other options.

Most of my days involve wearing minimal to no makeup, but I always include a liner and gloss. Last Christmas, I treated myself to the Refy lip combo set, and I was instantly impressed. Initially, I was drawn to the brand because of Jess Hunt, whom I followed for fashion tips before she launched Refy. Additionally, the buzz around me about the brand and its ethos and values sealed the deal.
The Refy lip liner comes with a gel-like substance to set the liner. I then apply the Refy gloss, which is one of the best long-lasting glosses I’ve ever owned, and I’m ready to go.

Then Rihanna launched her Fenty lip liner, which I naturally had to try! Firstly, because it’s Rihanna; secondly, because I already use many Fenty products; and thirdly, it’s Rihanna!
What I love about the Fenty liner over Refy is how creamy and well it applies. On the other hand, I prefer the Refy liner because it’s a roller, not a pencil that needs sharpening.
So, what makes a lip liner stand out? For me, it’s how long it lasts without needing reapplication. Fenty’s liner lasts quite long—it may fade slightly, but the definition remains. However, Refy’s liner lasts just as long.

In conclusion, I can’t definitively pick one over the other in terms of quality. But if I had to choose, I’d pick Refy for two reasons: it’s £1 cheaper and doesn’t require sharpening. Some may argue that a pencil lasts longer, but I’ve had my Refy liner since Christmas, and seven months later, it’s still going strong.
